Yes we do play weddings, but not in the traditional sense.
When someone hires us to play their wedding, its because they want a Blue Method show experience to be part of their wedding memories. They don't ask us to learn anything...maybe ONE tune, but that's about it and that means we cost considerably less than a traditional wedding band who'd charge anywhere from $5000.00 - $15000.00. So if you're looking for a band to play your wedding, keep in mind that we will play Blue Method originals in addition to the covers that you'd like from our list of covers.

A History of The Blue Method
Mike Patriarca(guitar) and Tom Long(saxophone) had been in a band called Big Dog Lovin' and the lead singer died. They tried some instrumental stuff for a while. The name The Blue Method actually existed before I met them. Anyway, we met and we started what REALLY is The Blue Method in 2001. Dirty Dan Schram and David Duffin were the bass player and drummer. I'm not hatin'. I'm just making comparisons to greatness.
I sometimes get into heated discussions about today's singers. After expressing my views, I sometimes get called a "hater". I hate that dumb word. It's completely dismissive of any rational reason for disliking someone's music. Reasons like "Their lyrics are so crappy", or "Everyone in R&B sounds exactly the same", or "I bet you'll hear an "OH!" before this song is over". (LOL!) Short cuts are the enemy - This won't be as coherent as I might normally write cause I'm pissed.
In the recording process it is important to be mindful that short cuts usually result in a product that is less than shining. For instance, if you want horns, save the money, if need be, to hire horns. That being said...you shouldn't even think about that expense until your song has been...wait. My advice 1st and foremost is to take the necessary time to form a band. Ought to be ashamed of yourself for digging on a "person" who abuses AUTO-TUNE!!!
There was a time when you had to do take after take to get that one perfect or best possible take. And that would be your finished product. Over time recording companies began to "splice". But there wasn't a whole lot of this. It'd be big sections of songs that got spliced together. Eventually, technology progressed to the point where splicing was not good enough. Artistry began to decline and only people like Ray Charles were delivering on the first or second take. Producers were splicing verse… Continue

- I read music, taught music to seventh graders a long time ago, and feel the stuff in my blood. I'm a writer who likes to make music, as opposed to a musician who likes to write. When I started my life over a few years ago the first thing I bought was a computer, next a flute and lastly a sewing machine. I figured with those tools I would rebuild my life. I'm doing so. I'm a bit too old to theorize about anything. A thing either works or it doesn't. LOL
