We're going to start by answering ourselves because just as we can help you, you can help us too! Music Builder is barely a week old at this point and has started growing in tremendous ways. I thank everyone who has joined and become involved up to this point and encourage you to invite a couple friends. With the invite feature at the top of the site, it only takes about ten seconds to spread the word about our network.

The more people we get in here, the more cool features we can add to the site, the more resources we have to pull from, and well, you have the hang of how this place works now....

In the future, we'll be working toward a launch party so if you have any fun ideas for things you'd like to see happen, drop a note. Suggestions are more than welcome!

Greetings Simon,

Had you found what you were looking for in terms of a sponsor or artist/group?

I am preparing to record my first retail quality single. I am projecting that within the next two months, I'll have a release ready to make some waves so I am prospecting where it will be recorded and how we're going to get word out about the release. In the meantime, I am performing regularly but always looking for new places to show my face and building my email list (send your address to me in a message if you'd like to join and stay posted).

I have a different understanding of music than many artists in my genre and a unique message providing substance for people to relate to and love the fact that I have the opportunity to share that message with wide audiences. My topics range anywhere from light-hearted love to more intricate relationship situations, from awareness about domestic violence to political messages of responsibility and consequence for the next generation. That's the main of what's going on with me as an artist right now (you know i always have more in the works). If something I've said in here strikes your interest, I'd love to talk to you more about it. I am Ms. Music Builder so you know where to find me!

Greetings Ja-Tun,
It's April 2008 where you able to accomplish your goals you set via this forum in Jan 2008?

I'm a writer and journalism professor, not a musician, but I have worked with musicians on projects, and I interview artists. Right now, the project that I am working on that will eventually need music is an interactive documentary called "Fashioned by Love: The Life of Nancybelle Valentine." You can see pieces of the work in progress on this blog. The woman whose story I am documenting is in her 70s, and I would like to have music that sounds as if it was made during each decade of her life as part of the soundtrack. Right now I don't have funding for that part of the project, but I have been doing grantwriting, and may have some funding in the future. The documentary itself is part of a non-commercial research project that will get broad exposure in the new media and gaming industry, as well as in academia.

Greetings Professor Kim,
Has the projected you mentioned been completed? If you don't mind me asking where do you teach?

Actually, im quite interested in television production. But among directing, producing and the like, id also like become a TV Personality. I think it'd be fun, I have oodles of charisma, and besides, it probably pays! I figure, i'll make it one way or another. This site is a fun start.

Greetings New Jer-Z,
Have you considered starting your own video channel? The barrier to entry is relatively simple and you can start with one of the biggest video social networks online -Youtube.

With a consumer camera and inexpensive software you could record, edit and upload your videos in a relatively short amount of time. I've found that once you put your videos on a few of the major social networking video sites other websites and blogs begin adding them to their networks (VIRAL).

Right now, I'm preparing for my role in "The Bluest Eye," at the Hartford Stage in Connecticut. It's a play based on the Toni Morrison novel. I've got my full list of confirmed upcoming performances on my profile page.
